Renogy Black Friday 2026 for Jamaica: what works on 50Hz, and what it really costs landed
Short answer: yes, Renogy's Black Friday deals can work in Jamaica. The solar panel, charge controller and batteries are DC gear, so JPS's 50Hz doesn't matter. The big deal, the 3500W 48V inverter charger at US$599.99 (down from US$1,215.99), has a 50/60Hz setting and adjustable output voltage, so it can be set to 50Hz and 110V for Jamaica. Landed in Kingston with Dennis Shipping and customs, it comes to about US$820–970 (≈ J$131K–155K). The pre-sale runs to 15 November; Black Friday pricing runs 16–30 November.

The 50Hz check
| Product | Works on JPS? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| ShadowFlux 200W panel | Yes | DC: no 50Hz issue. Its shade tolerance helps under trees and in cloudy weather. |
| Rover 60A MPPT controller | Yes | DC: no 50Hz issue. It auto-detects 12V/24V for lead-acid; for lithium, set the LiFePO4 battery type yourself. |
| Core Mini LiFePO4 battery | Yes | DC battery: no 50Hz issue. IP65 rated. |
| 3500W 48V inverter charger | Yes, once set | Renogy's spec sheet lists 50/60Hz adjustable and output voltage 100–120V in 5V steps. Have your electrician set it to 50Hz and 110V before anything is plugged in. |

Estimates, not a quote. We assumed about US$55 per box for the inverter, battery and controller (similar box size to the AC180 box Dennis quoted at US$55 on 20 October 2026) and about US$80 for the panel box. Dennis bills by box size, so ask them with your box measurements. Customs: duty 0% or 20% (customs decides at clearance), 15% GCT, 0.3% Standard Compliance Fee, 0.85% Environmental Levy and about J$2,500 admin fee. Lithium batteries carry 0% duty until 1 February 2027; solar panels are duty-free and GCT-exempt. J$160 = US$1.
Building a home system with the inverter
The 3500W inverter is the heart of a do-it-yourself 48V home backup: it has a solar charge controller (80A, up to 150V of panels) and a 40A charger from JPS built in. Add a 48V lithium wall battery (one 5 kWh battery carries a fridge, fans, TV and Wi-Fi through most of a night) and a few 200W panels. A licensed electrician must wire it into your panel board.
Want to see how it compares with power stations and a fully installed system for your appliances? Try the solar calculator: it now includes a Renogy 48V build-it-yourself option.
Before you buy
- Ask your shipper about lithium batteries. Not every courier or barrel shipper takes them, and some limit the size.
- Check the warranty. We haven't confirmed whether Renogy covers products used outside the US. Ask Renogy before you buy, and keep your receipt for customs and any claim.
- Plan the install. The inverter and any 48V battery need a licensed electrician. Connecting to the JPS grid needs JPS approval.
- Buy before 15 November for the pre-sale prices, or watch for Black Friday pricing from 16 November.
Questions
Will the Renogy 3500W inverter work on Jamaica's 50Hz?
Yes, once it's set. Renogy's specifications list the input/output frequency as 50/60Hz adjustable and the output voltage as 120V, adjustable from 100V to 120V in 5V steps. Set it to 50Hz and 110V before connecting appliances.
Do Renogy solar panels and batteries work in Jamaica?
Yes. Panels, charge controllers and lithium batteries are DC equipment, so the grid frequency doesn't affect them.
Does Renogy ship to Jamaica?
Renogy's US store sells to US addresses, so most Jamaicans buy to a Florida shipping address and send it home with a shipper like Dennis. See how Shop & Ship works.
When does the Renogy Black Friday sale end?
The pre-Black Friday sale runs from 28 October to 15 November 2026. Black Friday and Cyber Monday pricing runs from 16 to 30 November 2026.
